How to Listen to Microphone through a Playback Device on Windows 11/10

Windows 11/10 allows PC users to listen to portable music players or other devices connected to the microphone jack through a selected playing device such as your computer speakers or headphones. 1. Open Run (Win + R), copy and paste the command below into Run, then click/tap on OK 

rundll32.exe shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL mmsys.cpl ,, 1

2 Click/tap the Recording tab and double-click/tap your default microphone device.

To turn on, do the following:

1. Click/tap on the Listen tab. (see screenshot below)

2. Check the box Listen to this device.

3. Under Playback through this device, select the playback device you want to listen through.

4. Click/tap on OK 

5. Click OK again to exit Sound settings panel.

To turn off, do the following:

1. Click/tap on the Listen tab

2. Uncheck the Listen to this device box.

3. Click/tap on OK

4. Click OK again to exit Sound settings panel.
