How To Install/Enable Gadgets On Windows 11

Desktop Gadgets are a common feature in Windows 7 and Vista. However, this feature is not available in recent versions of the Windows operating system, including the latest Windows 11.

Why did Microsoft remove Desktop Gadgets?

Microsoft has removed the Desktop Gadgets feature for security reasons. In fact, according to this official Microsoft page, the Windows Sidebar platform has many serious vulnerabilities. The page also mentions that hackers and attackers can use the Add-ons feature to gain access to your computer and data.

How to get Gadgets in Windows 11?

Uninstall desktop gadgets from Windows 11
1. Open the Settings app. Go to Apps > Apps & features page.
2. Scroll down the installed apps list to see Windows Desktop Gadgets entry.
3. Click on the three vertical dots (?) next to the Desktop Gadgets Revived entry and click the Uninstall option.
4. Follow the on-screen directions to uninstall Desktop Gadgets Revived from your computer.
5. Reboot your PC
