How to Clean of Your Computer

Cleaning, tidy and tidy up… is the simplest way to help your computer operate more stubbornly.

Just like our bodies, homes, cars ... PCs also need regular cleaning to help everything run smoother and more durable. Here are simple tips to help a computer can "live" longer.

Cleaning

The fan is the part that collects the most dirt in the computer

Dust in the air is unavoidable. And over time, your device will inevitably get dust - not only outside but also inside, through the gaps in the case. And fans are often the places that gather the most dust because this is the place that circulates the most air inside the computer equipment.

Do not underestimate this! Because, the fan is the main cooling unit in most popular PC equipment available on the market. And once it cannot function properly (due to dust, tangled hair, animal hair, etc.), problems quickly arise. The phenomenon of overheating causes your device to lose its stability and sometimes fire or electric shock will occur.

Therefore, on average, at least once every 6 months, let's clean the machine once. Of course, when performing the operation, we need to turn off the machine and unplug the power.

Clear the trash

Regular garbage collection will increase the performance and longevity of the machine

The junk data is also the cause of the computer becoming more sluggish after a period of operation. And just like cleaning garbage in the house, computer garbage also needs to be disposed of periodically so as not to cause "pollution". Currently, many softwares are capable of handling junk file filtering well and so users just need to download, install and use them easily.

The most popular software include Piriform's CCleaner (also known as "Crap Cleaner"). This is free software and is available on both Windows and Mac platforms.

Disk Defragmenter (Disk Defragmenter)

Disk Defragmenter is a utility program that comes with the operating system, it helps analyze the entire hard drive and then rearrange the fragmented files and folders are discrete into a block linked together. As a result, your system can access files and folders more quickly and efficiently, thereby improving the overall speed of the computer system.

By consolidating your files and folders, Disk Defragmenter also rearranges free disk space, making new files less fragmented. The process of organizing fragmented files and folders is called defragmenter.

Note: This method should only be applied to older HDDs. If you have a device equipped with a solid state drive (SSD), we absolutely should not use a defrag solution because it will reduce the life of the drive. This is a unique feature of SSD technology.

Reinstall the OS whenever possible

After a long period of use, users can make minor errors and affect the operating system. This will also inadvertently affect the device's performance. Therefore, if possible, users should regularly reinstall the operating system.

Before proceeding with the reinstallation, we should take note of backing up important data. In the context of cloud computing growing at breakneck speed, online backup is not too complicated and users can choose this method. Or if you stick to the classic backup approach, you can use some manual or data backup software - but the main effect is to move important data to another storage device (e.g. portable hard drive).
